Our students have excelled in subjects such as English Language, Dance, Music, and Religious Education (RE), with more than half (54%) of students achieving a grade 7 or higher in RE.
We’d like to congratulate some students for their individual performances. These include:
This year was also significant for the Academy as our first cohort of boys sat their GCSEs, with some impressive achievements from:
But it’s not only the students above who deserve recognition – we’re bursting with pride for more than 180 other students that make up the year group. Whatever grade our students have achieved, everyone has demonstrated dedication to the subjects they have been studying over the last five years and we wish them all the best for the future.
Rachel Grey, Principal at The Portsmouth Academy said:
“It's my final GCSE Results Day here at The Portsmouth Academy and I couldn't be prouder of what our students have achieved. When everyone is working towards their individual aspirations, it can be a challenging time throughout exam period, but everyone persevered and have done so well.
“At this school, we're all about transforming the life chances of every single individual who leaves those school gates by supporting them in achieving their aspirations in a respectful and inspiring environment. Congratulations to everyone for their results today and thank you to the staff for this success."
Assheton Woodall, Principal Designate at The Portsmouth Academy said:
“Rachel and the staff at The Portsmouth Academy have done a fantastic job in teaching, supporting and motivating the students over the last five years to achieve the grades they have secured today. These grades will now enable the students to progress onto the next chapter of their learning; whether that is at college studying A levels or BTECs, or securing an apprenticeship in their chosen field.
“It's with great pleasure I take on the role of Principal from September, and am looking forward to building upon the successes that we have seen this year. It's moments like these that inspire our younger students to strive to be their best and achieve their dreams.”
