As part of the end of term Christmas celebrations, TPA staff performed a pantomime based on the Walt Disney film Tangled, which tells the story of Rapunzel. Miss Vowles made her panto debut as Rapunzel and Mr Forster brought the smoulder as Flynn Ryder. In the TPA version, Rapunzel wants nothing more than to leave her tower to go to TPA so she can be an independent learner while Flynn Ryder steals a Golden Thinking Hat from King Woodall.
The witty script was full of jokes about school life at TPA including, uniform checks, habit points, lunch queues, a trip to Chessington and the Reset Room! This year’s show also included a musical interlude, of the ‘12 days of Christmas’ performed by Miss Hart, Miss Bellazrak, Miss Blackmore and Mr Scott, with TPA themed gifts from Mrs Begum including a Be Your Best Self Journal, broken ties, red pens, litter pickers, and Thinker’s Keys.
The cast for the show featured Miss Hart, Miss Blackmore, Miss Bellazrak, as the three evil witches who kept Rapunzel in her tower. Mr Scott was brilliant as Maximus the horse. Mr Burns and Mr De Caen played the Stubbington brothers with Mr De Caen doing double duty, donning the famous red dress to play Queen Red. Mrs Davis ruled the stage as King Woodall and Miss Lawrence, Mr Hassan, Miss Devoil and Mrs Scrace stole the show as the ‘Bandits of Excellence’!
