Miss Bellazrak, who teaches science at The Portsmouth Academy, received two Microsoft Community Engagement Awards, one to recognise her work in the South West region and the other to acknowledge her efforts across the UK.
In response to receiving both awards, she said: "It’s very unexpected to receive these awards, but I am so grateful to the Microsoft community who have helped me with the work we have achieved at The Portsmouth Academy.
"It has been a privilege to support other schools with their digital transformation. Whether that’s supporting teachers with their lesson plans using digital one:one devices or supporting their understanding of Microsoft tools to enhance learning, for example with the use of Feelings Monster, it’s humbling to be recognised both regionally and nationally."
As previously shared, Miss Bellazrak delivered a Microsoft-focused talk at the Bett UK conference about how laptop devices are having a positive impact on children’s learning in her classroom. This achievement contributed to her award too.
In response to being an active member within the Microsoft education community, she said: "It’s amazing being part of the Microsoft community, which has really enhanced my own practise for the benefit of pupils. It has been a joy to support other professionals with their development too. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Microsoft community – to be able to work collaboratively and learn different ways of how to enhance the classroom using digital and to use EdTech in a way to reimagine education is priceless."
